Wilmac’s Clyde North rapid sell-out reflects confidence in Melbourne’s Southeast

The commercial and industrial property market in Melbourne continues to demonstrate resilience and strong buyer confidence, with LAWD and Cameron announcing the successful sale of all 25 lots within the Wilmac Clyde North project.

Launched in late 2024, the final lot within the 8.8-hectare development – located in the City of Casey, Melbourne’s third-fastest growing municipality – was sold by the end of November, marking an exceptionally swift campaign. Construction works on site are nearing completion with the land lots expected to settle early in 2026.

With total sales achieving just under $70 million, LAWD Director – Development & Projects, Henry Burbury, said the result reflects sustained demand for quality, well-located commercial land, which follows LAWD’s rapid two-month sell-out of Oreana’s WT Business Park.

“Both WT Business Park and Wilmac Clyde North sold extremely quickly, highlighting the underlying demand for strategically positioned landholdings,” Mr Burbury said.

“The strong appetite from businesses to secure sites in these precincts also speaks to the calibre of the developers, who are committed to creating vibrant, functional and future-focused business hubs.

“We continue to see significant optimism in the commercial and industrial property sector, particularly as residential construction softens in Victoria and many builders pivot towards commercial opportunities.”

Wilmac Clyde North is a vibrant and contemporary business precinct designed with excellent arterial access and features a 3,000-square-metre central park. The development is expected to generate around 400 jobs, including 120 during the construction phase. Once fully operational, it will contribute more than $100 million annually to the local economy, supporting local suppliers, businesses and the broader community.

A diverse mix of commercial operators will establish themselves in the precinct, including a BP service station, quick-service retail offerings and an Aspire Childcare Centre to service the surrounding residential growth.

Chris Wilkins, Director at Wilmac Properties, said the sales outcome is a significant win for Clyde North and the City of Casey, with planning now underway for the next phase of development.

“We are extremely pleased with the results of the sales campaign for this master-planned precinct, which underscores the continued strength of the commercial property market and the demand from businesses seeking turnkey solutions,” Mr Wilkins said.

“We are committed to delivering well-designed, dynamic business communities, and preparations are already underway for a new parcel of land on Tuckers Road, which will be released to market in the first half of 2026.”

The Wilmac Clyde North development forms part of the Thompsons Road Precinct Structure Plan. The City of Casey is home to more than 411,000 residents and features more than 11,750 existing and planned lots across its residential, commercial and retail heartland.

The sale of the 25 lots was jointly brokered by LAWD’s Henry Burbury and Henry Sayers, together with Angus Clark, Will Cooper and Tom Langley from Cameron.
