Valuations demand prompts LAWD to expand Perth team

Burgeoning demand for agribusiness valuation services across Western Australia has prompted national real estate and advisory firm LAWD to expand its WA team, with the addition of Gus Morris to the Perth office.

Since LAWD Director, Josh Ledingham, moved to WA to establish the Perth valuations business in 2022, the company has created a strong rapport with industry leaders, bankers and corporate clients, who have embraced the team’s fresh approach, industry knowledge and access to national property networks.

Mr Ledingham has built a strong reputation as a detail-oriented specialist, following more than a decade in property valuations.

Mr Ledingham said the appointment of Associate Valuer Gus Morris to LAWD’s Perth office would further boost the skill and capacity of the team to service large corporate and institutional investors, as well as its core agricultural clients.

“Over the past three years, key members of the agriculture, property and finance sector in WA have come to know and trust our valuation services, and Gus’s appointment means we can service more clientele and provide a higher level of service,” Mr Ledingham said.

“Gus brings additional capacity to the Perth team and is a qualified valuer with a strong attention to detail.

“He is experienced in valuing a range of asset types including dryland and irrigated cropping, horticulture, plantations and specialised assets such as feedlots and piggeries.

“His appointment strengthens our ability to deliver comprehensive valuation services to a growing client base across the state.”

With a Bachelor of Property Economics from Queensland’s University of Technology, Mr Morris is now enthusiastically carving out a property career as an Associate Valuer with LAWD.

Since arriving in Perth, Mr Morris has enjoyed meeting new clients and getting a handle on WA’s unique agriculture sector, as well as expanding his valuation skills and networks.

“Relocating to the Western Australian office provides a strong opportunity to broaden my expertise and continue progressing within the company,” Mr Morris said.

“My time in the Brisbane office was invaluable, where I had the benefit of learning from some of the company’s most experienced valuers.”

The expansion of the team in WA comes as LAWD celebrates five years since its launch as a leading specialist property business. Sustained growth and expansion has seen the company employ more than 110 people in nine offices throughout metropolitan and regional Australia, including 23 qualified valuers.

LAWD Chief Executive Officer, Enda Foley, said ongoing expansion, including the placement of skilled staff like Mr Morris in the west, was a continued priority of the leadership team.

“Since our launch, we have expanded our Western Australian team and established offices in Perth and Brunswick to provide specialist expertise to the rural property market,” Mr Foley said.

“We’re proud to work with a diverse range of clients across the state, and the addition of Mr Morris to our valuations team ensures we can continue to provide timely advice to our growing client base.”
