With more than fifteen years’ experience, LAWD Director Agribusiness Transactions, George Barton has honed his skills in marketing, negotiating and bringing a creative approach to sales. George is currently the supervising licensee in charge of the Tamworth office and a shareholder of LAWD, a tier-one specialist real estate business providing a full suite of professional services including advisory, transactions and valuations through more than 100 specialist staff across Australia.
Working with international and domestic clients, George’s communication skills and results‑driven approach have led to his outstanding success in business. He has travelled extensively throughout Australia for work, giving him a comprehensive knowledge of New South Wales, Queensland, and the Northern Territory.
George has established himself as a high performer within the rural sales market across all facets of agribusiness including, cropping, grazing, irrigation, poultry and horticulture, negotiating more than $150 million of rural property transactions in the 2025 calendar year. He was awarded the highly acclaimed REINSW “Rural Marketer of the Year” award in 2021, which was judged by a panel of leading industry peers and contested against all other agencies across the state.
A proud Tamworth local, George comes from a fourth‑generation family‑owned farm. Whether it be in sheep and cattle yards, or marketing rural property, George is enthusiastic and committed to providing his clients with a premium level of service.
As a highly accomplished sporting champion, George Barton understands how to operate with drive, determination and focus. He is widely recognised for his representation of Australia in two Olympic and two Commonwealth Games, where he won both silver and bronze medals in clay target shooting.
