Kayte Bewley appointment strengthens LAWD’s new Development Advisory service

Industry trailblazer, Kayte Bewley, will join LAWD next week as a Director in its newly launched national Development Advisory business unit to deliver turnkey, whole-of-cycle land development solutions across Australia.

Ms Bewley has more than 14 years’ experience across strategic partnership management, market analysis, negotiation and government tenders in the land development and retail housing sectors.

She is recognised for creating retail strategies that achieve significant market results and was nominated for the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s Women in Leadership Award in 2022.

LAWD Chief Executive Officer, Enda Foley, said Kayte’s appointment would strengthen the company’s new national Development Advisory service.

“Kayte is an exceptional operator who combines deep industry knowledge with strong, productive relationships,” Mr Foley said.

“Her experience and unique perspective across both building and land development will be invaluable as we scale this new business unit.

“We are delighted to welcome her to the team and looking forward to seeing momentum build as we expand our new offering to clients nationwide.”

Ms Bewley said her previous experiences gave her a rare insight of both sides of development, and she was excited to use her skills at LAWD and contribute to the growth of the new Development Advisory service.

“I enjoy working with high-performing teams, and at LAWD our team will be supporting land developers and builders to deliver the best outcomes in industry,” Ms Bewley said.

“I’m really looking forward to help build our Development Advisory arm while also growing my own experience across the wider business and different industry sectors.

“To begin with, I will be focusing on partnerships, bringing builders and developers together to achieve land transactions that make sense for both sides.

“Addressing the housing affordability crisis is the biggest opportunity for our clients and the wider industry, and I see enormous potential to improve outcomes through smarter housing design and land use efficiency.

Our Development Advisory business will support this with long-term strategic partnering with clients.”

Ms Bewley said land supply also remains a concern, and industry is experiencing extended timeframes in planning, approvals and delivery.

“Time adds unnecessary cost and ultimately the customer pays the price, so continuing the dialogue with government to streamline processes and reduce red tape is critical if we, as an industry, are to deliver the homes and communities people need,” she said.

Ms Bewley will join the LAWD team at the annual Urban Development Institute of Australia Annual Footy Lunch on Friday, a key event in LAWD’s sponsorship calendar, before officially starting in her role next Monday, 1 September.
